(2) The three on the right are
probably May, Marj, and Felicia. (Corrections will be welcome.)
Who are the other three?

(6, 7, 8) In 1930, Herb had an
elementary school class; there is a class picture from that year, and
Herb is there as the teacher. He was either teaching or student
teaching. If I had to guess, these people were either his own teachers
or his supervisors/mentors in his first teaching job.
Anybody recognize any of these? Tentatively, we are calling #7 Aaron
Orange and #8 Moe Scherer. No clue yet for #6.

(10) 1940 or 1941. Maybe
honeymoon, though they look overdressed for the season; Marj was
dressed much lighter in the honeymoon pix. On the other hand, Marj is
wearing the hat she wore at the wedding.
We know Herb and Marj; who else is in the picture?

(11) 1940 or 1941. Marj is on
the left. The woman on the right is a dead ringer for Susie Amster;
gotta be a younger Clara Amster. That sets the context as Marj with
Parkchester friends.
In that context, I sort of recognize second-from-left as Sybil Newman.
Agree? Disagree?
The third from left I don't recognize. From the context, I might
believe Miriam Platt (Judy and Lois' mother) or possibly Jean Bassman
(though it doesn't quite look like her).
Platt fits better, given the dark curly hair and perhaps a faint
resemblance to Judy and Lois -- who looked a lot more alike than either
looks like this. Any ID from y'all?

(12) Early baby picture of
David, in 1941. It doesn't look like Grandma May. Maybe one of her
sisters? How about a nurse; Ruth reminds me that Mom always had help
with a new baby. Any IDs or
ideas?

(13) A birthday party in 1943.
From left:
- Sybil Newman with Gabrielle.
- Clara Amster with Susie.
- Marj with David.
- ????? with ?????. I have the feeling I should recognize them, but I
don't. Can anybody help?

(15) 1946. Herb with who? I'm inclined to think it's the
entertainment team (band, social director, athletic director, etc)
wherever he worked that summer. Maybe the Majestic Hotel at South
Fallsburg; I know he worked there a few subsequent summers.

(17) OK, so sue me. I've got a
blonde babe on the back of my bike holding onto me, and I can't
remember who she is. May be the only time that has happened to me. :-)
The only one I can think of is Adrienne Handel. If it were earlier
than 1946, I'd be pretty sure it's her, but my world expanded when I
started Kindergarten that year. The picture is identified as "Spring
1946"; if that's true, it's probably Adrienne.
Why am I so sure I can't get any help on this ID?

(18) The oldest in these is May
Quicksilver Friedman. Who are the others. They don't look at all like
Marj and Felicia, and May would have been older if they were M&F.
Are they two of May's sisters? She had four sisters and two brothers.
The sisters were Bertha, Stella, Madeline, and Evelyn. Any ideas?
