Moving into the Park Today it is very difficult (and probably expensive) to reserve a cabin inside Yellowstone Park, and especially at Old Faithful Village. Back then, there wasn't nearly as much tourism. Remember, no Interstate highways; it was two-lane roads for hundreds of miles in order to get there. I'm sure we did have reservations, but they probably didn't have to be made over a year in advance -- like today.
