Blue Heron Pines

We started with Blue Heron Pines. Sorry, but no pictures. It was an overcast day with occasional drizzle, and the camera did not come out.

Blue Heron Pines is a nice enough course, but nothing special. Most of the courses we play in Monmouth County compare to it. Some are not as good, and others are even better. I wouldn't make a trip to South Jersey for another shot at Blue Heron Pines.

Twisted Dune

We've played Twisted Dune before. And we like it a lot, so we'll play it again. So I'm not embarrassed by the fact that I have only a few pictures of TD this year.

Twisted Dune is a tough course. Links-type course on steroids. You can see the blue flag (back hole location) on the green amid the sand dune/bunkers. Yes, Warren hit the green with this shot.

This fox at Twisted Dune was big, healthy, sleek, and fearless.

In fact, it was almost tame. Here it decided to pose for the camera. No, this is not a telephoto shot.

Atlantic City Country Club

Atlantic City Country Club is one of the oldest country clubs in America. And it was once one of the ritziest. (I almost said "most exclusive", but I understand it was as much celebrity as money that could get you in.) It is also an excellent golf course, named #1 publicly accessible course in New Jersey at various times by Golf Magazine and Golf Digest. I concur that it is a fine course, though I have other favorites.

One of the features of the course is the view of the Atlantic City skyline. The course is actually not in Atlantic city, but across the bay where it has a wonderful vantage point to view the length of the AC buildings. You'll see that in most of my pictures.

This panorama is the view from the clubhouse dining room. And the food was almost as good as the view.

Rich at the entrance to ACCC. in case you can't read it on your screen, the sign says, "This bell was used in the early 1900s to remind golfers that the last trolley was about to leave for Atlantic City."

Real good sunset photos

As I have said before, a sunset photo or several is de rigeur for these trips.
